The composer included the opera "The Little Sweep" created in 1949 in the larger project "Let's Make an Opera!", where the audience is invited not only to watch the performance, but also to become a part of it themselves.The story of the opera tells about the little chimney sweep Sam, who works in difficult conditions and experiences the injustice of adults. But a group of kids decide to help him. Friendship, courage, compassion and fellowship become more important than fear, and children's ingenuity overcomes all obstacles.Benjamin Britten believed that opera could be close and understandable to every child. Therefore, the work is full of memorable melodies, playful scenes, and the young performers become the main heroes of the story.
