SUMMARY:Medijų opera ČIURLIONIS: MATAU MUZIKĄ - AllEvents.lt
DESCRIPTION:https://allevents.lt/teatras/vilnius/muzikos-svetaine/139705-teatras-mediju-opera-ciurlionis-matau-muzika-vilnius-2026-bilietai\nThe media opera performance "Čiurlionis: I see music" is a modern fairy tale without words based on the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, in which music, image and light merge into a single dramaturgical journey. The authors of the play are Audronė Žigaitytė and Mantas Bartusevičius. More than 200 paintings by M. K. Čiurlionis are used in the visual dramaturgy of the performance, they form a changing spatial structure and become an active part of the artistic narrative. The musical fabric of the performance consists of Čiurlionis' works of various genres. The structure of the performance is based on a consistent movement through the elements and states - from the primordial spring and the depths of the forest to cosmic visions and the sea horizon. The mythological snake is chosen as the symbol of the story, which is perceived here not as a character, but as a principle of movement, transformation and life - a line, a curve, a pulse of light that leads the viewer through the Čiurlionis world. The musical fabric of the performance consists of Čiurlionis' works of various genres. The Lithuanian folk song "Sutems tamsi naktužėlė", harmonized by Čiurlionis, is performed by the Vilnius Sacred Music Choir ADORAMUS. The chamber line is continued by the first part of the Quartet, arranged for the orchestra by Vilhelmos Čepinskis and performed by the Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra SOLIARIS, conducted by the author of the arrangement. The symphonic scale is created by fragments of the symphonic poems "Miške" and "Jūra" and the cantata "De Profundis", performed by the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and the Kaunas State Choir (artistic director Petras Bingelis), conducted by Juozs Domarkus. "Čiurlionis: I see music" invites the viewer not to observe, but to experience - to listen to movement, light and sound, through which a living, constantly changing sound is revealed. The world of Čiurlionis.
