Although it may sound incredible for young festival participants, there were no planes, cinema or electronic music a hundred years ago. The flight of an iron bird, especially when watching a movie about Queen, was impossible. A person's attempt to fly, in other words, an attempt to seek impossible, tells our culture since ancient times IKar's history.
And how can an attempt to seek impossible in theater? This is a question of the circus artist Džiugas Kunsman. With the help of physical comedy, contemporary circus and household equipment, Džiugas will turn into a dreamer who tries to pursue his dreams actively, though not always successful. The hero's adventure on stage will be complemented by early film shots and soundtracks created from a unique collection of early electronic musical instruments.
In 2024, the sketch of the performance "Icarus" won the competition "The starting point" of the festival organized by Kaunas City Chamber Theater. Ikar will be the first author of Džiugas.
What once seemed unattainable - today is common. And what seems unavailable today?
