"Don't Kill the Songbird" is a screen adaptation of Harper Lee's book of the same name. The film tells the story of a lawyer, Atticus Finch, who took up the defense of a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. Atticus is a widower raising two young children, and the case he takes turns their lives upside down. The action takes place in Alabama during the Great Depression and the story is based on a true event.
