Hot summer. The families of Juste and Ernesta come to the farmhouse to spend a quiet weekend. Ernesta's husband just celebrated a victory in the martial arts ring, so it's time for everyone to take a breather. At first, everything seems normal - the lake, music, an outdoor terrace with a grill, watching basketball, talking about loans and future plans. However, it gradually becomes clear that under the idyllic exterior of the relationship lie unspoken feelings, jealousy and competition. Time passes and the family meeting takes an unexpected turn... It was supposed to be a quiet weekend at the homestead.
Laurynas Bareiša ("The Pilgrims"), the winner of the Lion and four "Silver Cranes" at the Venice Film Festival, returns to cinema screens with a psychological drama about adult relationships, jealousy and competition. The world premiere of the film took place in August in the main competition program of the Locarno Film Festival (Switzerland), where it won 2 main prizes for best direction and acting.
The main roles in the drama "Sisters" were created by Gelminė Glemžaitė ("The Saint", "Surviving the summer", "Pats sau millionierius", "Reemigrants"), Giedrius Kiela ("Pilgrims", "Surviving the summer"), Paulius Markevičius ("Pilgrims, "Surviving the summer" "Poet"), Agnė Kaktaitė ("What men don't know").
