On December 2 last year, the world celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mary Anna Sesilia Sofia Calogeropoulos. A girl born in a New York family in a family of Greek immigrants was famous for Mary Kalan. And while the "divine" singers have been with us for almost half a century (since 1977), it still remains one of the most enchanting voices and personalities in the opera history.
In the biographical bar of director Pablo Larraín, Mr Kalas is embodied by one of the most enchanting actors of the last decades - Angelina Jolie. The author of "Jacqueline" and "Spencer" tells the story of the opera singer retrospectively, looking from the 1970s Paris.
The tape reveals the first steps of this magnificent woman on stage, black work, suffering, failure, stage attraction, excitement and triumph. Mary, who tells her story, re -experiences her passion, pain, frustration and love. It is like a mosaic of all her stormy, wonderful and tragic life from pieces.
