31 May. At 1 p.m. KKKC resident Audronius Žemgulis invites you to the creative workshop of Old Portraits, where you will get to know one of the oldest photography processes - the technique of wet colodia. You will take a photo with a large -format -based camera using original copper lenses that dive back in the 19th century.
This technique requires each image to be created from the beginning, from the preparation of the plate to the highlight of the image in the dark room. The end result is a unit image on glass or metal, distinguished by its texture, depth and historical character. It is a slow, thoughtful way of creating that allows you to get to know photography essentially as a synthesis of craft, art and chemistry.
The participants will take all the steps of the process themselves, so according to the photographer, "Every portrait will become a cultural experience and time in a capsule - a live testimony about how people looked at the world more than a century ago."
