In 1945 August 9 The atomic bomb in the city of Nagasaki in Japan killed 190 thousand people. lives. The tragedy left a deep, still unhealed wound in people's memory. In the film, Noriko returns to Nagasaki twenty years later to sell her parents' house. She talks to hibakusha who survived the explosion but are discriminated against in society, whose stories and memories are chilling. The grief, guilt and shame of talking about what happened still has a strong impact on these people's lives. In the film's poetic and deceptively calm shots, there is a deep and suppressed grief, which is helped to be touched by the unexpectedly found letters from Noriko's mother. N-13

Vilnius Documentary Film Festival, founded in 2004, is the oldest international documentary film festival in the Baltic States and, so far, the only festival in Lithuania devoted exclusively to creative documentaries. The main program consists of the films of recent years, which appeared at the most important documentary festivals. Parallel festival programs are dedicated to author retrospectives and special events. VDFF is a space for meetings and conversations: filmmakers, curators, authors' representatives come to the festival, and an event catalog with texts accompanying the films is published.
