What if the heroes of the old paintings lived today?
Algis Krisčiūnas presents another creative idea - an exhibition of miniature photocollages, in which the most famous masterpieces of painting move to our time.
Did they love differently than we do when they lived hundreds of years ago? Did they feel loneliness, jealousy, longing, anxiety, guilt, and joy? Did the mother holding the child in the Renaissance painting experience the same feelings as the mother of today? Do the glances of lovers, sadness after loss, waiting, fear and dreams really belong to an era, or are they an eternal part of human nature?
By moving the heroes of classical works to the present, Algis Krisčiūnas offers a thought experiment - perhaps only clothes and decorations separate us from them, and the inner world of man has not changed over the centuries.
July 9. 7:00 p.m. An exhibition of miniature photo collages is presented in the Algis Krisčiūnas art gallery. During the evening, the artist will tell the stories hidden in the famous paintings of the old masters and together with the audience will try to imagine what these works would look like if they were created today.
This is not only a story about art, but also a conversation about us - about what changes in a person and what remains forever.
