A concert of Indian classical music, in which Adomas Šimkūnas (Bansuri flute), Anatolijus Lomonosovs (Sitar) and Tomas Drunga (Tabla) will perform live and improvised pieces that reveal the depth, emotions and spontaneous beauty of this music.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the melodious and playful sea of sounds of Indian classical music.
This ancient, deep tradition evocative music is like a bridge to a world where time dissolves, and the archaic musical language nurtured and preserved for many centuries meets with improvisation here and now, in the moment.
Each composition of Indian classical music - Raga - has a vivid and a distinctive emotional color that develops from complete calmness and the first note to a colorful play of melodies and rhythms. The raga is like a living, unique story-telling musical canvas that the musicians weave, inviting the listener to immerse themselves in a wonderful musical picture, where a subtle sea of emotions unfolds, immersing the listener far from the unstoppable everyday rush into a moment of eternity and beauty.
At the first concert in the first part, you will hear the lyrical, melodic duet of the Bansuri flute and tabla percussion, conveying the subtleties of this music. The second part will be crowned by an energetic performance of string sitar and tabla. The entire concert will be accompanied by the tanpura - a stringed instrument that supports the main tone and symbolizes eternity.
It doesn't matter if you are a connoisseur of world music or just a person who appreciates good music, this concert will be an unforgettable journey of discovery and pleasure. You will experience a unique interplay of melody, rhythm and silence, unfolding in spontaneous improvisation, which is the foundation of Indian classical music. You will feel the pure joy that these musicians convey in their performances.
