When Hiam Abbass was 23, she left her family and home in Palestine to pursue an acting career in France. However, every summer she returns to her childhood home and native village with her daughter. After growing up and becoming a director, her daughter Lina Soualem begins to record their travels and carefully collect family memories.
The film combines the lives of four generations of women, opening different stages of Palestinian history. Distant faces of loved ones, scattered archives and the forgotten smell of childhood homes merge into one like a mosaic. Despite the pain surrounding memories and time sinking into oblivion, the director chooses to remember, restore, feel. Homes can be destroyed, but in memory they will live forever. N-7
