Weekend tour "LIVING ARCHEOLOGY IN MEDIEVAL KIRNAVA"
Mindaugas Coronation Day is a great time to get acquainted with the medieval traditions of Lithuania! These days, the unique “Days of Living Archeology” will be held in the ancient capital of Lithuania, Kernava! On July 6, I invite you to my signature weekend tour in Russian, during which we will get to one of the most beautiful places in Lithuania, we will see how ancient Lithuanians lived and what they did about 700 years ago in the first Lithuanian capital, the legendary Kernavė.
We will be able to meet real archaeologists, learn how they dressed in medieval Lithuania, how they made weapons and jewelry, We'll hear medieval music, try traditional Lithuanian dishes, and see real knightly battles! We’ll also learn the secrets of the medieval bathhouse in Lithuania from a professional bathhouse attendant! The guide will tell you the unusual history of Kernavė and the ancient legends of this place. Everything here is literally shrouded in myths, legends and stories. Along the way, we will explore several mysterious places with unsolved mysteries and find out what gods the Lithuanians worshiped in ancient times. What is Kernavė:
Archaeological Park Kernavė. A place called "Lithuanian Troy". An amazing and beautiful complex of castle mountains, located in the Payautos valley, where more than 700 years ago the first capital of the then pagan Principality of Lithuania was located.Tour cost 40 Euros per person. This price includes all transportation costs, parking and professional guide services along the entire route. Additionally, you will have to pay for tickets to the “Days of Living Archeology” event itself (12 Euro if you buy a ticket in advance, children are free).
The tour starts at 10:00 am in the parking lot at the entrance to the IKI store next to the Vilnius Central Bus Station. The tour will end with arrival at the Vilnius bus station at approximately 17:00. It is also possible to join the excursion using your own personal transport; the ticket price in this case will be 20 euros for an adult and free for children. I recommend booking tickets in advance, since the number of seats on the tour is limited from 4 to 8 people, priority when ordering tickets online
