A short course on how to support a dying person and his loved ones

What is this course?

The purpose of the course is to teach people a mature understanding of death and arm them with the knowledge and skills necessary for proper preparation for the death of a loved one or their own death.

The target group is people who were or will be close to a dying man. The seminar is aimed at the general population, and not only at medical workers. However, medical workers also receive a lot of useful and practical information on this course. Due to the fact that little attention is still paid to the topic of death in Lithuania, people are often left alone with their anxiety and pain. The knowledge and skills that the participants of the course «Проститься осзнянно» receive allow them to take care of the dying with respect and calmness. Having mastered the course material, you will make less painful mistakes.

PROGRAMMA:

The course consists of 5 topics:

Actuality. As the standard of living increases and the development of medicine increases, more and more people live to old age, while the birth rate decreases. The aging of the population represents a serious challenge for health care and social service systems. We will discuss how to prepare for the situation when the needs of the dying will have to be taken care of by communities, not doctors and nurses. Mature understanding of death. How we behave depends on what we believe. What is a mature understanding of death and why it is important for a sober attitude to life will be explained in a scientific and understandable way. Preliminary instructions. Very clear advice will be given on what to pay attention to before death, so as not to lose yourself in the chaos of thoughts. There are early and late signs of death that have their own regularity. Understanding the laws of death allows you to predict and prepare for the appearance of symptoms. Rituals and their meaning. How do rituals affect the process of grief? How to plan a funeral? Important nuances of farewell.

The seminar consists of 2 parts of 1.5-2 hours each, with a small break between them. /p>

I am a practicing doctor, I provide palliative care to children in Kaunas, I teach palliative care at the Ministry of Health's courses for doctors. Since 2019, I have been actively conducting courses for adults about death and dying. Участвую в конференциах и как слушатель, и как лектор .

PRICE: 30 EUR. Group from 15 to 30 people. The course will take place if there are at least 15 people (otherwise we guarantee a refund). Only a contact course (video broadcasts and recordings will not be made).
