This is how pianists recognized in the world affect the music of the young generation of Lithuanian pianist Paul Andersson. We were just a good news from France: Paul won the 2nd Prize at the Piano Festival and the Lyon 2025 competition. So on August 5, we will be able to congratulate the winner in Birštonas Kurhaus and enjoy his calling piano music masterpieces.
P. Andersson continues the beautiful traditions of the musical family: his mother Alekandra Žvirblytė and grandmother Veronika Vitaitė are a prominent pianist and educator, and grandfather Vytautas Žvirblis - conductor. Paul graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and Bachelor's degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. In 2021, he received a Master's degree in Stage Art in Robert Schumann Higher Music School in Düsseldorf (Germany), and last year graduated from a post -graduate arts at the prestigious Miami Frost Higher Music School in the US.
The pianist began to perform at the age of 5. 11 years debut with St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and at the age of 14, he played as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. Since then, it has already appeared in the concert scenes of Europe, Japan, Indonesia and the United States, where he performed with orchestras, solo and chamber programs. In 2022, he became a resident of the Drozdoff Society in New York.
Andersson has won the winner's names in 16 international competitions in France, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Greece, Italy and Lithuania. He has released a CD of works of J. Vitolis, L. Van Beethoven, F. Chopin, F. Schubert and M. Ravel. Piano and drum improvisations are another passion for Paul, who also brought prizes to him.
Paulius Andersson became the winner of the Lithuanian Musicians' Union Award "Golden Disk" in 2024.
