A duo from Poland - Emil Pietrzyk (strings) and Paweł Szpura (percussion) - will perform on August 29, Saturday, 20:00 at the Lelia of Druskininkai Culture.
A duo exploring the delicate space between archaic tradition and modern free improvisation.
The core of their sound is the Kurdish and Iranian tanbur from Kermanshah. a region whose mystical heritage meets modern drums here, building a bridge between different musical cultures and eras.

Emil Pietrzyk – multi-instrumentalist and musicologist, masterful in guitar and tanbour.
Paweł Szpura – jazz and blues drummer whose field of inspiration stretches from deep American blues traditions all the way to African and Middle Eastern musical heritage.
Currently, the duo is working on their debut album and refining their unique musical language based on improvisation, rhythm and timbral searches. Before this project, both creators played music together in the group Krija, which released its debut record in 2023.
