The Kaunas State Choir, which usually performs monumental and serious works of academic music, decided to have a little fun and together with the energetic Kaunas Big Band, prepare an upbeat performance for the listeners a program in which you will see both teams from a completely different angle. The concert, full of jazz rhythms, gospel intonations and the best festive mood, will feature well-known Christmas carols sung all over the world, colored with new arrangements, combining the powerful sound of the choir with the jazzy big band frenzy. Such a jazzy, swinging alliance of two collectives will present a bundle of compositions in which the miracle of Christ's birth is hidden. Songs, hymns, bright melodies, transparent harmonies, joy and hope are the keywords of this program. Surrounded by small vocal-instrumental miniatures, the three-part suite "Rejoice" by the British composer Will Todd uplifts the listeners and sounds like a flash of light, goodness and blessing.
The initiators of the project, the Kaunas State Philharmonic and the concert institution "Kaunas Santaka" ensure that the high spirits and incendiary music will not last long during the evening.
