Kaunas String Quartet together with guitarist Sergej Krinitsin has prepared a colorful and new program, which will feature two suites by Argentinian composer and guitarist Maximo Diego Pujol, extremely interesting in their content. The first suite "Guernica" (lit. Guernica) is based on Pablo Picasso's work of the same name. The artist painted the picture after the Basque city of Guernica was mercilessly bombed with thousands of shells in 1937. During the Spanish Revolution. P. Picasso's contemporaries recalled: "Although the artist had never been to Guernica, the news of the city's destruction hit him like a bull's horn." after the capital of Argentina. The parts of the suite are named after the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, which, in the composer's opinion, have a unique atmosphere, which he conveyed in his composition.

It is no coincidence that the Kaunas String Quartet will play rhythmically next to the Argentinian composer's works. the moody "Scherzo concertante" by Teisutis Makačins and Fausts Latėnas string quartet no. 2 "For bright memory", which includes excerpts from the music for director Rimos Tumin's famous play "Smile on us, Lord", for which the author was awarded the St. Statue of Christopher. According to the composer, art is born out of love for God and man, and this quartet is "dedicated to the bright memory of all the good friends who are no longer in this life and all the happy moments we had together." In general, most of F. Latėnos' works reflect the spirit of theater and the passionate color of Astor Piazzolla. So we invite you to take a walk in this colorful and theatrical source of music!

The laureate of Lithuanian classical guitar festivals and competitions, SERGEJUS KRINICINAS started learning to play the guitar at the age of 14, his first teacher was the Lithuanian Classical the founder of the guitar school Jurgis Rimkevičius.

The guitarist has performed with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. S. Krinicins is also an active teacher - in 2001 after founding a guitar class at the J. Naujalis Music Gymnasium in Kaunas, he trained several laureates of national and international competitions, and since 2011 he teaches at the Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy.
