After a break of several years, Gediminas Gelgotas and his charismatic string ensemble NIKO are back to enchant their music lovers in Kaunas!

The concert will feature minimalistic textures, easy floating melodies, rich harmonies, emotional depth and attractive musical innovation that Gelgotas and NIKO are famous for.
The dynamic collective is characterized by an innovative approach to contemporary classical music. Combining masterful professionalism and passion for the music they perform, they seem to give new life to already well-known repertoire, and surprise listeners with imaginative interpretations of never-before-heard new music.
In recent months alone, NIKO has debuted in such prestigious concert halls as Zurich Tonhalle (2024), Grand Théâtre de Provence (2024) or Weill Recital Hall Carnegie Hall (2023), and their new album " Consonance" has just been released by the famous Warner Classics company (2024). All this marks another significant leap in the already impressive history of the ensemble.
NIKO was founded in 2006 by composer and conductor Gediminas Gelgot. , the collective is a resident of the Vilnius City Hall, constantly representing the name of Vilnius and Lithuania during important diplomatic missions. NIKO artists are laureates of many international and republican competitions, and the music of the collective's artistic director, Gediminas Gelgot, is heard at prestigious European festivals.
