The amazing (the only jazz superstar in the world who comes from Cuba) pianist Marialy Pacheco with her cool band will perform in Kaunas on October 20. (Sunday), 4 p.m. in the cozy Kaunas Philharmonic (E. Ožeškienės st. 12).

Marialy Pacheco was born in Havana, the capital of Cuba. She became interested in music at the age of seven and began her studies at the famous Havana Conservatory. Supported by his parents (his mother is a choir director, his father is an opera singer), he later graduated with honors from the piano class at the Escuela Nacional de Artes and continued his studies in the art of composition, during which he even won two gold medals at the World Choir Games!

During successful concert tours around the world, with the first in 2005 with the album "Bendiciones" (Blessings), Marialy becomes a world-class musician! She constantly travels, creates, records albums, lives in Australia and Japan, and in 2012 participated in the solo pianist competition of the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. As the first woman in the history of this competition, she was awarded a special jury prize, as well as an audience award.

Among the musicians honored to collaborate with Marialy Pacheco: Rani Kriya, (Sting and Dominic Miller ) percussionist, famous Israeli bassist Avishai Cohen, American timbale player Carl Perazzo from the Santana band and many more!

The peak of musical inspiration and amazing collaboration is the last album of 2022, Reload, which will be presented In Lithuania!

As the author and performer of the album M. Pacheco herself states: the meaning of "reboot" is like a discovery and rebirth, consecrating every artistic embodiment of her creative personality with fresh, shining light. According to the musician, every note she plays has a meaning, behind every melodic movement and harmony there are ideas and experiences that inspire her.

Marialy currently lives with her mother in the German city of Bremen (she says, that she always felt she had to leave her small Caribbean island to share her music with the wider world outside).

Marialy Pacheco's Reload is her twelfth album and, in her opinion, her most exciting to date and the most mature creative idea. In addition to two Cuban musical standards, it contains only the author's most sensual work!

"I wanted to expand my palette of musical colors!" - she explains the concept of the album itself. "Here, my Cuban roots extend to Latin American traditions and the origins of classical music".

Her music is authentic, traditional and at the same time contemporary, with a strong contribution from a young and talented percussionist-virtuoso from Colombia Miguel Altamaru de la Torre, whom we will see in Lithuania as well! "Reload" is a combination of different musical identities, emotional treasures and many life experiences, and is one of the most impressive and influential musical albums of our time!
