At this concert, you will not only hear the most famous waltz melodies of J. Strauss the Younger, but you will also learn humorous and spicy stories that will be told by the host of the evening, Giedrius Prunskus.

Johann Strauss the Younger continued the tradition of his father's Viennese waltz, he composed 170 of them. With his works, he popularized not only waltzes, but also dance music of the time. Growing up, he began to compete with his father, Johann Strauss the Elder. He was the eldest son in the family, the most famous representative of the Strauss dynasty, who is still called the "King of Waltzes" to this day. Competing with his father, he formed his own ensemble (later an orchestra) in 1844, conducted and composed music for it. After his father's death, he combined his and his father's orchestras. In 1863-1872, he was the music director of the Vienna palace banquets. He not only composed music, but also conducted. Many of the melodies he wrote later became works of Austrian folk music.
