Every person desires Love, harmony with nature. Love gives fulfillment, happiness, fulfills the desires of feelings, satiates the depths of the soul, learns to be better, but... love does not always have a happy ending, because where love is, it is often followed by suffering and disappointment. It is not for nothing that poets, writers, artists, music creators express in their works a whole palette of strong, confused feelings: bliss, admiration, surprise, sadness, romance, suffering, death, loss.
A whole bunch of similar experiences will be reflected in tonight's program, which the Kaunas String Quartet will perform together with the soloist Vilija You are stuttering. The centerpiece of the concert will be Ottorino Respighi's work for string quartet and voice "Il Tramonto" ("The Twilight"), which was based on Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem about the death of a young man, which is described as a beautiful, romantic event, although at the same time it describes the suffering and lamentation of a woman. when she hopes for peace in death. The composer masterfully applied the music to the words, the beauty of nature is reflected in his harmonies, and the composition with a wonderful texture not only evokes the scenes of the poem, but also evocatively expresses the feelings of the two characters.
The listeners also will hear some of the most melodious songs by Franz Schubert, Edvard Grieg, and the interludes will include rare pieces by one of the great Italian opera creators, Giacomo Puccini minuets and "Chrysanthemums" are performed.
Fans of the Kaunas String Quartet, which is counting its fifth decade of activity, have no doubt that each program prepared by the collective will contain new chamber music pearls. The collective has already held more than two thousand concerts in various Lithuanian and foreign halls, released a dozen CDs, and won several prestigious awards. Mezzo-soprano V. Mikštaitė is praised for her special voice characteristics and charisma. The soloist creates roles in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, in project performances, she has also shone abroad with her singing.
