The duet of professional performers has been delighting listeners with their joint programs for many years. During the evening, the vocal cycles of K. Brundzaitė and B. Dvarionos, rarely heard on the stage, created with texts by J. Degutytė, will be played, and fans of German romanticism and French impressionism will be able to enjoy the mature works of R. Schumann and C. Debussy. R. Schumann's "Poems of Queen Mary Stuart" is one of the composer's last works, turning to the dramatic theme about the Queen of Scots, beloved by many creators. True, unlike others, the famous romantic did not attempt to retell the story, but put the entire gamut of the queen's feelings and states into his songs. C. Debussy created the vocal cycle "Bilitis dainos" using the verses of his good friend, the poet P. Louÿs. This Belgian artist became famous for his work, singing the love of women in the style of the legendary ancient Greek poetess Sappho. Researchers say that the heroine of these songs, named Bilitis, was an ancient Greek courtesan and a contemporary of Sappho.
