KAUNAS CITY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - 20!!!

The orchestra, remembering and wanting to give meaning to the history of its activity, invited the former chief conductors of the orchestra to this festive concert - world-renowned violinist and conductor Pavel Bermanas (Italy), maestro from Latvia Imants Resen and conductor Modesta Pitrėnas, well known to the Lithuanian audience. On the day of the concert, the current chief conductor of the orchestra, Constantin Orbelian (USA), nominee of four prestigious "Grammy" music awards, will also stand at the conductor's desk. This solid male company will be complemented by soprano Tatev Baroyan (Armenia - USA), the owner of a wonderful voice, the rising opera soloist of the younger generation.

Together they will perform works of fantastic beauty. But what's a birthday without a surprise? And the surprise of this concert is created by the legendary composer Giedrius Kuprevičius, which the audience will hear at the orchestra's birthday concert. The orchestra promises that more than just musical surprises await the audience.

Over the course of two decades, this collective has implemented many significant projects and intensively developed publishing activities. The listeners were repeatedly invited to the concerts of world-famous stars.

The orchestra's discography consists of more than three dozen CDs. The music albums were declared the best in the world and even nominated three times for the prestigious "Grammy" and the International Classical Music Awards.

The last few years for the orchestra were incredibly successful, creative and full of global ratings.

The Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra has implemented projects that have received great interest from the audience and echoes around the world - the opera prima donna Renée Fleming's concert in the Žalgiris Arena, the world premiere of composer Lera Auerbach's symphony dedicated to Čijun Sugihara, premiere, in cooperation with Europe's largest culture and art channel "ARTE", filming of festive concerts in the Kaunas Archcathedral Basilica. The Latvian opera prima donna Kristine Opolais and the Armenian tenor Liparit Avetisyan, who shines on the stages of European theaters, performed together with the orchestra and the Kaunas State Choir at the special festive concert held in 2023. The large group of performers was conducted by maestro Constantinas Orbelianas. This year, the orchestra also participated in this project of incredible beauty. The soprano Asmik Grigorian, who has been recognized many times as the best opera soloist in the world, the internationally renowned Ukrainian tenor Dmytro Popov, cello virtuoso Kristina Reiko Cooper and the Kaunas State Choir performed at the concert. Recordings of these concerts are broadcast on the "ARTE" channel to a multi-million audience in Europe and around the world, in a special program of festive concerts, for which the most famous performers and the most impressive projects are selected.

The collective led by Algimantas Treikauska, 2022 was awarded the "Golden Disk" award for high artistic level and intense concert activity.
