Internationally acclaimed violinist Evgenia Epshtein and pianist, VDU Music Academy professor, head of the Piano Department Donaldas Rachys present a joint program, which will be supported by two sonatas for violin and piano , which became one of the most prominent examples of this genre in the entire history of music. The first of them is Johannes Brahms' Sonata no. 1, is based on the themes of songs composed by the composer himself and earned the name "Rain Sonata". The second one is Edvard Grieg's Sonata no. 2, about which one of the composer's contemporaries said: "This is a gift to the world from a man who has also trembled in the cold mists of the night." The charismatic violinist will give the audience the premiere of a work by contemporary composer Nimrod Borenstein, who was born in Israel, grew up in France and lives in England. This conductor and composer's work is performed all over the world, from the Royal Opera House in London to the famous Carnegie Hall in New York. The duo of performers will diversify the program with plays by the German-Polish composer Moritz Moszkowski. The famous Polish pianist Ignacy Paderewski has said about his work: "After F. Chopin, he best understands how to write for the piano, and his work covers the entire spectrum of piano technique."

EVGENIA EPSHTEIN, currently living in Split, Croatia, is one of the founders of the Aviv Quartet, captivating audiences around the world with her extraordinary artistry and expressiveness.

She began her musical journey at the Buchmann-Mehta Music School in Tel Aviv, studying with such famous teachers as Arthur Zisserman, Yair Kless and Irina Svetlova, later honed his chamber music skills at prestigious institutions including the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with the Alban Berg Quartet and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse" in Paris, led by the Ysaÿe Quartet. The performer won the grand prize at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and many second prizes at such famous competitions as the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition and the Prague Spring International Music Competition.

How soloist E. Epshtein performed with famous world orchestras.
