Band members Linas and Ovidijus announce that they are taking on the most ambitious career project to date - on February 21, they will hold a concert in the largest event space in the country, Kaunas "Žalgiris" arena.

In August, the duo held their biggest summer concert in a packed Palanga concert hall, and they will soon accompany the warm season with another impressive performance in Chaim Frenkel's villa park in Šiauliai on August 30. However, these stages are not comparable to the biggest arena in Lithuania, which "Žemaitukai" calls the most ambitious project of their career so far.

Kauno The group has already performed at the "Zalgiris" arena and remembers this experience as if it happened yesterday. At the music awards held in January, M.A.M.A. the duo was nominated in the traditional pop group of the year category, and on this occasion they received an invitation to perform several songs.

" The performance in Kaunas really stuck with us. I have never been more nervous before a concert than I was then. I didn't understand what was happening to my body. I remember how Justinas Jankevičius (author post - host of the event) came and, just before we went on stage, he said: "Men, you're fed up, what are you so excited about?" Calm down, finally start to believe in yourself, go on stage and have a blast", Linas remembers the experience in the biggest arena in the country.

"We have been dreaming about our concert at the "Žalgiris" arena for a long time, but until recently it seemed like something far away. However, we received a lot of encouragement from other artists that it's time to work on bigger projects, so we're taking the bull by the horns. Kaunas is the heart of Lithuania, the country's biggest concerts are held here, it is convenient for everyone to come here, so we believe that we will see a lot of people. It's hard to believe, but our dream is slowly becoming a reality", admits Ovidius.

We met and became best friends during our studies. After becoming Linas and Ovidijus, they have been consistently climbing towards the peak of popularity for more than a decade, but the group has gained the most recognition in the last few years, and the main factor of success has been the original work.

Last year, "Žemaitukai" released the fifteen-song album "If the world belonged to me", which was extremely popular and received hundreds of thousands of views on music platforms, and since then presented six more works.

"For many years we played in cafes and at weddings, performing other people's music, but we realized that we cannot go without our original songs the next step towards your dreams. We started creating ourselves, experimenting and it worked. It's an unreal feeling when people love you for who you are, when they support your work and can identify with it," Ovidius does not hide his joy.

Once you start creating, it's hard to stop. The men admit that now they write even more new songs than they need, so they have given many of them to other groups performing in a similar style.

"At our place, I write the songs", - says Linas - "I tried to find helpers, but then the thoughts get mixed up, so one is better. We also have an excellent producer, Paulių Jasiūnas, whom we trust 150 percent. Ovid has always told me that "I am a fan of your work", so I am happy about that. He sometimes gets angry that I give away some good song, some praise to others, and to this day he reminds me that one or another song could have been performed by us," Linas laughs.

Tomas Inčikas, the head of the company Seven Live, which organizes Žemaitukų concerts in Palanga, Šiauliai and Kaunas, does not hide his admiration for the band members: "Lina and Ovidijus are very hardworking, persistent and talented, so it was it's only a matter of time before they hit the big stage. We are happy to contribute and watch their dreams come true from up close".

The most ambitious performance of Žemaitukė's career will take place in 2025 on February 21 in Kaunas "Zalgiris" arena.
