This winter we invite you to Monumental Tango, a powerful journey through the evolution of tango led by three extraordinary the performers are pianist Lucia Abonizio, bandonist Gilberto Pereyra and tenor Gilles San Juan. "Monumental Tango" takes the audience on a journey through the rich history of the development of tango, from the beautiful melodies of Carla Gardel to the bold innovations of Astor Piazzolla . Shaped by the influence of European immigrants, this music reveals stories of passionate, unfulfilled or betrayed love, and each track is accompanied by poetic introductions that complement the special narrative.
In this the performance features three masterful performers who embody the soul of tango, combining classical and lyrical music - Argentinian pianist and composer Lucia Abonizio, Argentinian bandoneonist Gilberto Pereyra and French-Spanish tenor Gilles San Juan. They introduce listeners to the various forms of tango, from its origins in the nightclubs of Buenos Aires to the Hollywood interpretations created by C. Gardel, as well as the innovative versions of purists and revolutionaries such as Piazzolla who elevated tango to high art.
The artists are united by their cultural origins - Argentina, France and Spain, where tango originated. Therefore, we can confidently crown them a trio of intense mastery - the performers combine lyrical singing, classical music and the warmth of tango, creating a unique synthesis of elegance and passion.
