Six musicians, united by the passion for traditional African and South American music, are a band Ayom. After meeting in Lisbon, six performers discovered a common musical language that features the rhythms of the islands of Brazil, Angola and the Green, intertwined with the musical traditions of South America and Africa. Each member of the group brings a peculiar history: Brazilian, Italian, Greek or Angolians who blend into a unique synthesis of sounds. The concert will feature traditional rhythms - Semb, Funaná, Maracate, Kizomba, Maloya and many others, conveying the vitality of different cultures.
This year, Ayom presents a new album "sa.li.va", whose title reflects three main impulses in their music: Sa-Grado (sacredness), "Li-Berdade" (freedom and love) and "Va-Lentia" (courage). This album produced by Latin Grammy winner Guilherme Castrup combines organic and electronic sounds, revealing a new but still authentic ayom musical identity.
