A. Shenderov | String Quartet No. 3
One of L. van Beethoven's most impressive masterpieces is the Thirteenth String Quartet op. 130 - created in the last years of his life. Being ahead of its time in terms of modern definition, this work may seem avant-garde even to a modern listener. Among the contrasting parts of the quartet, actor Andrius Bialobžeskis will read excerpts from Heiligenstadt's will and the mysterious and intimate "Letter to the Immortal Beloved". These texts allow us to look into Beethoven's soul - tortured, irritable, but full of love for humanity and loved ones.
String Quartet No. 3 (2015) is one of the most delicate works of A. Šenderov. This is a kind of five-part symphony for four in the traditional quartet genre. After a long break (the first two string quartets were created in 1976 and 1986), in the peak period of his creative maturity, A. Šenderovas returns to the elite genre of music forgotten by modern composers. Quartet no. 3, the author mainly focuses on deep expression, opening up.
