"Freedom Calls" is perhaps the most important and most ambitious joint project of musicians Sauliaus and Donatas Petreikiai, which has been developed for several years. It consists of 16 musical works that have no analogues, extending the Baltic archaic line.
During the concert, music arranged on the basis of ancient and brass wind instruments, based on Baltic-Scandinavian melodic harmony, will be played. The music of "Laisvė šaukia" is intended to express the great cry of the nation, remembering the strength and faith in one's own power. Much of the music was written in isolation, realizing the fragility of freedom and life in the unknown. Like many people, we experienced complex and conflicting inner feelings (the album was created during a pandemic, ed. note). This is exactly what we put together when creating the album "Laisvė šaukia", Saulius Petreikis tells about the creative process.
The musical program consists of contrasts between peace and shouting, love and loss, joy and tears. Each composition reflects different internal struggles that are familiar to many. According to Saulius Petreikis, his own personal conflicts are definitely not over. He is still learning inner freedom and strength. "I can only be happy that no matter how difficult it would be, the nature around me always helps me", says Saulius Petreikis.
