"Let's raise, let's raise a glass of fun!" - this is how the path of professional Lithuanian opera began 100 years ago at the Opera and Drama Theater in Kaunas!
Opera soloists loved by the audience, laureates of international competitions Ona Kolobovaitė, Egidijus Bavikinas, Liudas Mikalauskas are mentioned on this occasion. and pianist Beata Vingraitė prepared a chamber performance of G. Verdi's opera "Traviata". Why chamber? Because it is performed without orchestra and chorus, and some mass scenes will be replaced by excerpts from Alexandre Dumas's novel "Lady with Camellias", which was originally based on this opera back in the 19th century. The show's monologues and dialogues, intertwined with opera arias and duets, will reveal the tragic love story we all know in an unprecedented way.
From celebration to anger, from love to death, you will be accompanied by those participating in the program. artists, revealing the yet unknown life dramas of Violet, one of the most sought-after Parisian courtesans, and the young provincial noble Alfred and his father Germain.
