Superstar Gregory Porter has many fans in Lithuania and his concerts are a feast for the ears of music lovers. The world-renowned performer is labeled as "the second best American jazz singer" after Louis Armstrong. Gregory Porter's work transports listeners to a different time and space. In his music, the old origins of jazz are interwoven with stylish and modern soul and gospel soundscapes.
"I didn't start writing music out of unhappy love or a broken heart. All this is because of my father. That pain in my chest that I've felt since childhood, without experiencing his attention", Gregory Porter has opened up about the beginning of his work. The life of the artist who grew up in California is as changeable as the plot of a movie. He started his career as a football player, but due to serious injuries, he ended up in Brooklyn, where he worked in his brother's restaurant. As a chef, he spent his evenings singing in New York nightclubs.
Gregory Porter released his debut album in 2010 and achieved international success. Just a few years later, in 2012, his work was nominated for the first Grammy Award. Tracks such as "L-O-V-E", "Hey Laura", "Christmas Wish", "Everything's Not Lost", "Smile", "Somebody", "Holding On" and many other songs have conquered the playlists of music lovers.
