The 13th International M.K. Čiurlionis Music Festival presents one of the most prominent guitar ensembles in the Baltic States - Baltic guitar quartet.
"Four guitars - one soul" - eloquent Quartet Credo speaks for itself. The leading guitar ensemble in the Baltic States is fascinated by sensitive, colorful and delicate music. According to musicologist Viktoras Gerulaitis, this collective also has another distinctive feature - a sense of humor, which he says is far from every chamber team.
The concert "Clouds Roads" will combine Lithuanian music traditions and modern arrangement solutions. And guitar timbre and harmony will give Čiurlionis' music a new, contemporary shade and unexpected sound. The concert will also feature works by other well -known composers - F. Latėnas, J. Sweden, E. Elgar and Ch. Ruebens 'works that together with Čiurlionis' music will create a rich and diverse musical fabric. Each of these works will enrich the program with their own distinctive image, allowing the listeners to experience how the sounds of different epochs and musical styles smoothly blend in with the spirit of Čiurlionis' creative work and open the way for new interpretations.

About the performers:
In 2004, the Baltic Guitar Quartet came together in 2004 on the initiative of young and talented classical guitar performers. Quartet members: Zigmas Čepulėnas, Sergej Krinikinik, Saulius S. Lipčius, Chris Ruebens. The collective is appreciated by local classical music fans, presented abroad as a leading guitar ensemble in the Baltic States. The list of guitarists' concerts includes more than 25 countries around the world and prestigious concert halls - Japan, Russia, China, Austria, Denmark, and the famous Berlin Philharmonic, the Warsaw Kings of the Southbank Center. Quartet members are winners of various competitions, active performers, their musicianship sensitive, colorful and delicate, but unpretentious. The Quartet deepened the knowledge of the subtleties of the chamber ensemble while studying with a violinist, former long -time member of the State Vilnius String Quartet, prof. Peter Kunc also improved with world -renowned musicians and ensembles, several of them: Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Oscar Ghiglia, Pepe Romero, Roland Dyens, David Russell, Laura Young and Chiacchiaretta.
