Palanga Art Weekend
2025 June 25-29 | Palanga, Lithuania
Palanga Art Weekend is a new contemporary art event that will take place at one of the most iconic resorts in Lithuania. Five summer days and nights, artists and spectators will be invited to experience the city through exhibitions, performances, music, dance, readings and meetings.
The artistic programs will fill the exclusive places of Palanga - the modernist villa "Ausk", Antanas Monči Museum of Art, which opened the Palanga Bread Factory just a year ago, the Palanga Summer Reading Room and the club "Rožė". The changing relationship between leisure culture, memory, ecology and seaside transformations will be addressed throughout the weekend.
Alongside the main exhibition in the Auska villa, the historic bread factory will feature an alternative art fair, Commission, which will combine more than 40 artists who will present their work. There will also be performances and night music programs. Film reviews, artists' conversations, readings will be welcomed in the Palanga Summer Reading Room, and walks will invite you to rethink local stories and imagine a possible future. The program will be crowned with a night party at Rožė, where artists, local residents and guests will come together for the weekend celebration.
When Palanga turns into a modern resort, Palanga Art Weekend re -interprets the resort as a space for lust, art and transformation. Through the playful and poetic approval of leisure culture, the event aims to examine how tourism, hedonism and the climate crisis shape bodies, landscapes and identities, while offering new alternatives to being and sensory.
