"The dramaturgical axis of this concert is the dream of Buenos Aires. We start the evening's journey with Eduardo Balsios Habaneros from the movie Adam wants to be a man, based on Vytautas Sirijas Gira's short story Buenos Aires. It is the story of Adam and Luce, who dreams of escaping poverty and reaching Buenos Aires, a city that symbolizes freedom, hope and the possibility of a new life.
This work becomes a bridge to Astor Piazzolla's Buenos Aires, the city where tango nuevo was born.The program then takes you through the different faces of this musical world: from the monumental Aconcagua to the nostalgic Adiós Nonino and Oblivion, culminating in Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas. The concert ends with Arturo Márquez's Danzón No. 2, which expands this musical journey to a wider cultural horizon of Latin America," says conductor I. J. Šimkus.

Laimonas Salijus is a Lithuanian accordionist and pedagogue, actively performing as a soloist and a participant in chamber and orchestral projects. He has won prizes in the most important national competitions and international competitions "Coupe Mondiale" and "Trophée Mondiale", as well as performed in Europe, North and South America with various orchestras.
