The voice that opened Kirk Franklin's concerts, played on Emeli Sandé's recordings and entered Jennifer Hudson's "The Voice UK" team is in Vilnius.
On October 4, the Panevėžys Music Theater will be flooded with the energy of London soul and the power of one of the brightest British gospel voices.
Jason Nicholson-Porter, born in Jamaica and raised in London, is a British gospel singer, songs author, vocal arranger and teacher with over three decades of experience on stage.
Jason was discovered by a wider UK audience in 2018 when he performed Amazing Grace in the blind auditions of The Voice UK. His voice was enough to turn Jennifer Hudson and invite Jason to her team.
Jason's three official performances on The Voice UK - Amazing Grace, Let It Be and When You Believe - have already been viewed over two million times online. His duet "Let It Be" received a standing ovation from the audience, and The Voice UK themselves called this performance a vocal battle worthy of the world stage.
But TV is only one part of Jason's musical story.
He has been featured on Emeli Sandé's Long Live the Angels album, has sung backing vocals for Wretch 32, toured the UK with The X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson and presenting his original music in South Africa.
Jason has also opened concerts for world legends of gospel music - Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Karen Clark Sheard and Richard Smallwood.
The British publication "Keep The Faith" calls him a "golden voice" and one of the strongest UK gospel vocalists. "The Guardian" mentions Jason's performance next to Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond as an example of a real gospel show - one that the audience not only hears, but also feels, getting up from their seats.
His original song "Smile" was among the nominees for the best song at the "Premier Gospel Awards".
In Vilnius, Jason will perform together with pianist and founder of Downtown Piano Lab Vytautas Straižius. Two performers will create an intimate but highly emotional concert: one exceptional voice, one piano and all the special acoustics of the Panevėžys Music Theatre.
The program will meet soul, gospel and interpretations of popular music familiar to the audience - from sensitive ballads to climaxes that lift the voice, the hall and the audience.
This is not a traditional choir evening. It is a live experience of London soul and gospel music in one of the most beautiful concert spaces in Panevėžys.
