This year, the legendary singer Leonard Cohen would have turned 90 on September 21. Therefore, premieres will take place in Kaunas, Vilnius, Šiauliai and Klaipėda this autumn. Hallelujah, Who By Fire, Dance Me to the End of Love, Suzanne, Everybody Knows - these are just some of the songs that will be revived in the unique concert of Dainot Varnas and the Kaunas Big Band - the dedication "Cohen's World". Their arrangements were prepared by Jievaras Jasinskis, and Karolis Bratkauskas' visualizations will help reveal the mood of the program. Songs will be played, Cohen's voice telling about the sugar and salt of his life and ours.

Art critic Bruce Eder, assessing Cohen's entire career in the field of popular music, noted that Cohen, who sings with a low and rich baritone voice, is one of the most fascinating and enigmatic singer-songwriters of the late 1960s, who retained his audience during four decades of music and became a legend.
Leonard Cohen (1934-2016), who has been creating for more than 50 years, was born in Montreal, Quebec, into a middle-class Jewish family. His mother Marsha (Masha) Klonitsky was from Lithuanian Jewish rabbi, Talmud's daughter Solomon Klonitsky-Kline. As a teenager, he learned to play the guitar and formed the band Buckskin Boys. After getting acquainted with the works of the Spanish writer Federico García Lorca, he began to write himself. that it had everything: he was the hero of incredible stories that turned out to be true. On the other hand, Cohen, who was only 25 years old, was already considered the pride of Canada, who was even predicted to win the Nobel Prize for literature.
After Cohen's death, the famous music group " The Rolling Stones wrote: "He was the man who shaped the opinion makers." In pursuit of music, Leonard Cohen abandoned literature, which dealt with themes that interested him - religion, loneliness, sexuality, interpersonal relationships, and in the broadest sense - he was a creator and a humanist. 2011 Cohen was awarded the Spanish Prize of the Prince of Asturias for achievements in literature, the commission assessed the "lasting value" of the artist's work.
