Panevėžys Musical Theater continues the tradition and invites you to welcome the New Year together with music, the audience's beloved orchestra "Garsas" and bright young opera soloists Monika Pleškyte and Stepon Zoni.

The most beautiful arias and duets from the repertoire of operettas, musicals and popular classics will be played in the cheerful program. The concert will also include works specially prepared for the festive program. On New Year's Eve, the performers will be accompanied to the stage and the festive mood will be created by the host of the concert, actor Laimutis Sėdžius.

Soprano Monika Pleškytė - soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, laureate of international competitions. The singer creates roles and concert programs at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Klaipėda State Musical Theatre, Kaunas State Musical Theatre, participates in cultural projects (appeared in the "Kaunas - European Capital of Culture 2022" program), Pažaislis Music, Tytuvėnai, "Gaudete Birštonas" and others festivals, sang at LNOBT together with the Brussels theater "La Monnaie" and with the Royal Opera Theater of Muscat in G. Verdi's "Rigolete".

M. Pleškytė collaborates with the Lithuanian National, Lithuanian State and Kaunas Symphony Orchestras, St. Kristoforos, Klaipėda, VDU chamber orchestras. Actively performs not only in Lithuania, but also abroad, has appeared on the stages of Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Great Britain and other countries.

Soloists significant operatic roles have already established themselves in the repertoire: Gilda (G. Verdi's "Rigoletto"), Sophie (R. Strauss's "Rose Cavalier"), Susanna (W. A. ​​Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro"), Olympia (J. Offenbach's "Hoffmann's Stories"), Musette (G. Puccini's "Bohema") and the role of a woman, which the soloist created in F. Poulenc's opera-monodrama "The Voice of a Man" in the Panevėžys Music Theatre.

Baritone Steponas Zonys 2016 completed singing studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater with prof. Eduard Kaniavas. Having started his career in the Klaipėda State Musical Theater while still a student, since 2019 is a soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

S. Zonys participated in the LNOBT Opera trainee program and improved in international courses in Italy, France, Germany and other countries. His performances include roles on both Lithuanian and foreign stages, including his important debut at the Jerusalem Opera Festival in 2017, performing the role of Marcello in G. Puccini's opera "Boheme".

The performer has been awarded the Švyturios ateitis scholarship (2015), the Opera Hope of the Year and Audience Sympathy of the Year prizes, earned the title of Opera Soloist of the Year (2021, 2022) and the "Young Performer" award of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. For his services to Lithuania, S. Zonys was honored with an award from the President of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė.

Panevėžys Musical Theater Wind Orchestra "Garsas" (conductor Martynas Bražas) plays at celebrations, participates in festivals, conducts educational activities, prepares musical programs of various styles, appears with vocalists Monika Linkyte, Edgar Davidovičius, Laima Česlauskaite, Mindaugas Rojus, multi-instrumentalist Saulius Petreikis, and many others.
