This is an evening inviting you to go on a trip. To that distant country that lives inside us - in memories, conversations, silence, dreams. To the place where what is expensive lives: our people, our experiences, our longing and bright returns.
"A distant country" is a musical story about returning. Sometimes - to the place we grew up. Sometimes, to the conversation we keep to. And sometimes the feeling you want to experience again.
The four creators - actors Aurelija Tamulytė and Gytis Ivanauskas, tenor Antanas Zakarauskas and pianist Linas Dužinskas meet. Their narrative is based on the texts of the French playwright Jean-Luc Lagarce's "distant Country"-subtly, poetic but boldly expressed something we often do not say out loud. Works of composers: M. K. Oginski, M. K. Čiurlionis, J. Strauss, A. Piazzolla, F. Schubert, J. Massenet, R. Leoncavallo, F. Chopin, R. Hahn and others. Familiar and beloved, but this time the new ones - live, here and now.
Some songs will touch the memory. Others will strengthen the word. Others will highlight the silence. Music becomes a bridge between feelings, people and generations.
"Far Country" is an evening that not only tells but also touches.
Evening, after which you want to come to your loved ones.
