The audience of Šiauliai is waiting for an extraordinary event - the PREMIERE of the composition Seven Sketches for mixed choir and percussion created by jazz legend Viacheslav Ganelin! This work is a double dedication not only to himself (the maestro celebrated his 80th birthday on December 17 of last year), but also to the choir "Polifonija" celebrating its 50th anniversary. For a choir that does not shy away from challenges, jazz music is untested deep waters into which the band from Šiauliai, led by Linas Balandis, is ready to dive together with two percussionists - Arkadijs Gotesmans and Arns Mikalkėnas.
Lithuanian and Israeli composer, pianist, pedagogue V. Ganelinas has been performing jazz music for more than 60 years. Active concert activity connects him with saxophonists V. Čekasin and P. Vyšniauskas, percussionists V. Tarasov and V. Gotesmans. V. Ganelinas is best known to the wide Lithuanian audience for his most popular work - the music for the film "Devil's Bride". Film fans of the 1980s and 1990s remembered his music, which sounded in such films as "Beauty", "Nut Bread", "Smoke and the Kid", "I Won't Be a Gangster, Darling", etc.
The artist initiates free jazz and interdisciplinary art projects, experiments with various art forms on stage. We invite you to listen to his latest musical experiment, which will take place in the "Polifonija" hall.
