St. Christopher's Wind Quintet invites you to a concert at the XLII Festival Resurrexit, where music will become a gust of wind that wears you into undiscovered spaces of emotions and sounds.

St. Christopher Quintet, formed in 2003, is the most active and longest -term classic wooden brass quintet. It is played by talented music, winners of international and national competitions. All of them have graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, and later trained in various Western European Higher Music Art Schools.

The artistic activity of this high -profile team has long crossed the concert halls of our country. The performers won international recognition in 2007 at the prestigious VI International Henri Tomasio Wooden Brass Competition in France in France. Here they won 1st place and special prize for composer Régio Campo competition for the best performance written to Toy.

The team was accompanied by success in others - in 2008 at the prestigious international chamber music competition in Osaka. Here, Lithuanian performers shared the honorable fourth place with the New York Wind Quintet. This is a very high artistic rating: as many as 230 collectives from all over the world competed in this category of ensembles.

During the fifteen years of activity St. Christopher's wind quintet has accumulated a rich, stylistically diverse repertoire. Alongside the classic quintets of W. A. ​​Mozart, F. Danzio, P. Taffanel, A. Reich, performers pay particular attention to the complex twentieth century. For the authors' chamber opuses-S. Barber, L. Berry, M. Arnold, G. Ligetti, H. Villa-Lobos, J. M. Damase and many other composers.

Quintet performers are eager to cooperate with today's Lithuanian composers, which increases the repertoire of the brass chamber ensemble. This is how chamber works of R. Šileika, R. Giedraitis, R. Vitkauskaitė and other Lithuanian composers for the classic wind quintet.

St. The activities of Christopher's wind quintet are not limited to traditional concerts, and he is constantly looking for new principles of concert repertoire, original music that has not yet sounded in Lithuania. The team also organizes projects and festivals related to other art forms and participates in various cultural events. This is how the concert program "Line" was born, where the music blended with the masterful dance of LNOBT Primaballerina Olga Konoshenko. In order to achieve the coherence of the chamber ensemble and at the same time individual musical expressions of individual instruments, performers sometimes change the instrumental composition of the ensemble by supplementing concert programs with works of other instrumental compositions. In search of original concert programs, St. Christopher's wooden wind quintet has played with Marseille (France) wind quintet as a decades. Also, with the Copper Quinte of the capital, ten different wind instruments performed Rimantas Giedraitis' Summer Music, written by a wind decay. The concert also featured version of L. Bernstein's work "The History of the Wests of the Wests".
