Koncertas „PASAULIO SPALVOS“

In the two-part concert program, you will enjoy the most famous works of Francis Poulenc, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Astor Piazzolla, Antonio Lucio Vivaldi and Felix Mendelssohn.

The musical evening will give listeners the opportunity to visit as many as four countries of the world - France, Argentina, Italy and Germany - and hear the works of the most famous composers of those countries.

Perhaps for the first time in Lithuania, the French composer Francis Poulenc's "French Suite" will be performed. In it, the author reveals the peculiarities of the French regions, presenting the most characteristic dance of each of these regions. The suite is intended to be played by a chamber group of wind instruments and a harpsichord.

The originality and beauty of Argentina will also be conveyed in the concert by works arranged by composer Jaroslav Cechanovičius for the first time in public: Andrew Lloyd Weber's song about Eva Peron, the most famous and beautiful wife of the Argentine dictator; Astor Piacola's song "I am Maria", "Winter" from the cycle for orchestra "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" and his most famous composition for tango violin and orchestra "Libertango". The Šiauliai Wind Orchestra will be supported on stage by the excellent violin virtuoso Viktorija Čepinskienė and soprano Adrijana Balsytė.

In the second part of the concert, the orchestra will perform masterpieces by Italian and German composers together with the Šiauliai State Chamber Choir "Polifonija", which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It is symbolic that in this concert the choir will be conducted by its founder, maestro Sigitas Vaičiulionis. During the evening, the "Gloria" of the most famous Italian composer of the Baroque era, Antonio Vivaldi, will shine with new colors of wind instruments. Countertenor Ovidijus Astrauskas, tenor Juozas Janužas and soprano Adrijana Balsytė will sing this piece together with Polifonija. National prize laureate, opera soloist Asta Krikščiūnaitė will perform the psalm "Hear my prayer" by the romantic German composer Felix Mendelssohn together with the orchestra and "Poliphony". By the way, she started her creative path precisely in Šiauliai, 40 years ago when she sang together with "Polifonija" G.F. Handel's cantata "Acis and Galatea".
