V INTERNATIONAL JOSEPH ACHRON MUSIC FESTIVAL
"Duo Andersson"
Julija ANDERSSON (violin)
Paulius ANDERSSON (piano)
In Duo Andersson's concert, violin and piano will speak with the voices of different eras — from Jewish melody and Beethoven's vigor to Franck's romantic depth and Gershwin's jazz and theater colors arranged by Jascha Heifetz.
The program will be performed by violinist Julija Andersson and pianist Paulius Andersson, partners not only on stage, but also in life. Therefore, the musical connection they create takes on a personal dimension: here, not only skill is important, but also sensitive listening, reaction, trust and a shared stage breathing that has developed over time.
Joseph Achron's "Hebrew Melody" played in the program opens the field of Jewish musical memory — it is a sensitive, singing and emotionally concentrated piece in which the violin approaches the human voice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 4, Op. 23 brings the energy, drama and lively musical impulse characteristic of the composer's early period. One of the highlights of the program is César Franck's Sonata for violin and piano in A major, composed as a wedding present for the violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. It is a work in which romantic lyricism, internal tension and a bright climax of the end are combined into a single musical dramaturgy. The program will be complemented by George Gershwin's plays arranged by Jascha Heifetz, which give the concert American theater, jazz rhythms, elegance and virtuosic playfulness.
