The Baltic Guitar Quartet is one of the most prominent and longest-running Lithuanian guitar ensembles, having celebrated its 20th anniversary two years ago. Zigmas Čepulėnas, Sergej Krinicin and Saulius S. Lipčius have played music in the quartet since its foundation, and since 2008 the Belgian guitarist and composer Chris Ruebens has joined the group. The Baltic Guitar Quartet is presented abroad as one of the leading guitar ensembles in the Baltic countries. In more than two decades, the collective performed in more than 25 countries of the world and appeared in prestigious concert halls and festivals. This time, the Baltic Guitar Quartet presents its program at Trakai Vokė Manor.
The program invites you on a musical journey from the shores of the Baltic to the sunny regions of the south. It features "Colours of Baltic" dedicated to Nejc Kuhar's quartet, "Shchedryk" inspired by Ukrainian tradition by Mykola Leontovyčius, preludes by M. K. Čiurlionis and musical arrangement by Faust Latėnas for guitar quartet. Southern colors are provided by Astor Piazzolla's "Adiós Nonino" and Edward Elgar's "Sevillana", and the concert ends with the energetic cycle "Three Ukulele Dances" by quartet member Chris Ruebens.
