SPANISH COLORS
Saulius Jegelevičius (guitar)
Giedrė Gabnytė (piano)
NESSUN DORMA of the night concert marathon festival invites guitarist Saulius Jegelevičius and pianist Giedrė Gabnytė to the "Spanish Colors" concert, where delicate lyrics, southern temperament and enchanting sound of classical guitar will meet.
This program will take listeners on a musical journey from contemporary meditation to Spanish passion. The music of the evening will intertwine calmness and vigor, dreamy concentration and temperamental breakthrough of emotions, revealing the wide possibilities of the guitar and piano duet.
The first part of the concert will feature the cycle "Hypnosis" by contemporary American composer Gary Schocker. The five-part work creates a unique sound space where subtle nuances of timbres, slow pulsation of musical thought and hypnotic mood invite you to dive into the world of inner states.
The second part of the evening is dedicated to one of the most famous guitar works of the 20th century - Joaquin Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez". The melodies of this work reveal the beauty, love, nostalgia and longing of the Spanish gardens. A special place is occupied by the famous Adagio, which has become one of the most recognizable and sensitive musical pages in the entire guitar literature.
The guitar and piano duo will reveal a wide range of emotions this evening, from gentle lyricism and concentration to passionate Spanish rhythms and dramatic experiences.
