Pasak The Guardian, Richard Galliano- the best accordionist of today, rewriting the history of his instrument. Bringing it to the big jazz stage, he proved that it is not a "poor man's piano", but a composer's muse. Encouraged by Astor Piazzolla himself, he freed the traditional French musette from the grip of nostalgic clichés. And by freely and stylishly maneuvering between different genres, he won the love of both professionals, jazz fans and classical gourmands.
One night he can play Mozart's works, the next Piaf songs, the third to improvise with Wynton Marsal. But where does he feel best? "My goal is to love, play, create a lot of different music. Classical enriches me tremendously, jazz allows me to freely improvise, and creativity combines these different experiences," says Galliano.
