This talented pianist is known to keen music lovers for his versatile musical interests and various activities, and is more often seen not only in academic in concerts, but also in jazz or electronic music evenings.

Motiejus Bazaras was born in 1987 in a family of musicians. The first musical skills were formed at home, which were later improved at the choral singing school "Varpelis", the J. Naujalis Music Gymnasium (teacher Rymantė Šerkšnytė), the J. Gruodis Conservatory (teacher Sonata Bielionytė), the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater with professors Zbignevs Ibelhauptas and Sergejs Okruškos , at the Hamburg University of Music under the legendary pianist Professor Volker Banfield. 2012-2017 the pianist studied for a doctorate in arts at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater in the class of professor Petros Geniuš, the scientific work was supervised by dr. prof. Rūta Stanevičiūtė-Kelmickienė. Topic of the research paper: "Application of non-academic music practices in pianist training". June 12, 2017 Motiejus Bazaras defended his Doctor of Arts degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Motiejus is also interested in chamber music. He has participated and won several international competitions, participated in festivals with ensembles of various compositions. The piano duo of Motiejs and Mykolas Bazars has been active since childhood. A considerable repertoire has been accumulated, which has been repeatedly evaluated in competitions and festivals. The joint project C. Orff's oratorio "Carmina Burana" together with the Kaunas State Choir, soloists and percussion group was a great success. The most recent work is the album "[Ne] Games", released in 2021, in which the duo recorded never-before-sung works by Lithuanian composers for this line-up.

The pianist has considerable experience playing with various orchestras. He has performed with the Kaunas, Lithuania, Tallinn Chamber Orchestras, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and the Plovdiv (Bulgaria) Symphony Orchestra. Very relevant performances in spreading Lithuanian music: 2019 at the "Iš arti" festival, together with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, composer Jonas Jurkūnas' concert for piano and orchestra "Robots and Petals"; in 2020 Vytautas Bacevičius' First Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 12 "Lithuanian themes".

Motiejas Bazar's achievements in the field of piano music have been highly appreciated in more than 20 international competitions, the most significant of which are: the international competition "Young Music" in Tallinn in 1998. (1st place), international competition "Konzerteum" in Athens in 1998. (II place), international competition "Pro Piano Romania" in Bucharest in 1999. (1st place), international competition "Berlingske Tidende" in Copenhagen in 2000. (II place), international competition "Gradus ad Parnassum" in Kaunas in 2001. (III place), international N. Rubinstein piano competition in Paris in 2002. (Grand Prix), the international B. Dvarionas pianist competition in Vilnius in 2002. (Grand Prix), international competition "Olimpo Musicale" in Kaunas in 2005. (Grand Prix), international competition of S.Vainiūnas pianists and chamber ensembles in Vilnius in 2010. (1st place), M.K. Čiurlionis international pianist and organist competition in Vilnius in 2011. (diploma), J. Vitolis International Pianist Competition in Riga in 2013. (II place), M.K. Čiurlionis international pianist and organist competition in Vilnius in 2015. (diploma) Passion for jazz, rock and other styles of music encourages him to choose the path of a universal artist-performer. He participated in ten "Kaunas Jazz" festivals with various projects and groups.

Motiejus is open to new musical ideas, is interested in and explores different specific styles, and also devotes a lot of attention and energy to the dissemination and popularization of Lithuanian academic music. Together with his brothers Mykolas and Benediktas, the trio "#sotuskaunomuzikai" embodies the declared musical values. The Bazar brothers are also members of Los Secretos de Pablo, the only salsa orchestra in the Baltic States.
