Poet and dramatist Daiva Čepauskaite and I decided to think about these topics, choosing ancient Lithuanian pagan myths for the plot," composer L. Vilkončius tells the story of the creation of the work. While creating the opera, the authors consulted with the ethnologist prof. Libertu Klimka, the chief krive of contemporary Lithuanian pagans, ethnologist and folklorist Inija Trinkūniene, studied the works of anthropologist Marija Gimbutienė and a bunch of other scientific works about Lithuanian pagans. Delving deeper into the pagan worldview of the whites, it turned out that the few surviving stories are connected by one detail - in order to create the world, God had to dive under the water, get mud from the bottom and, after bringing it to the surface, created the earth. This line was not chosen as the starting point of the opera by chance. In the beginning, when there was nothing but crystal-clear water, the goddess Žemyna began to yearn for beauty, so she assigned her sons Praamžius and Velin the task of creating the Earth. Praamsi quickly understands the mother's thought, understands that the world must be beautiful and peaceful. At that time, Velina perceives the beauty of the Earth in his own way... The most famous Lithuanian soloists will play the main roles in the opera "The Creation of the World": Jeronimas Milius, Egidijus Bavikinas, Ieva Prudnikovaitė, Ona Kolobovaitė, Steponas Zonys and the Kaunas State Choir (conductor Robertas Šervenikas). The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by the artistic director and chief. conductor, maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius.
