The 15th LVSO summer festival starts this year with an impressive solo recital by opera star Edgar Montvid in the new LVSO concert hall. The soloist will present an exceptional program to the audience - along with R. Schumann's most famous song cycle "Poet's love", songs by S. Barber and I. Novello, the concert will also feature an impressive world premiere - the vocal of Žibuoklė Martinaitytė, the winner of the National Culture and Art Prize, who lives in New York, was written especially for E. Montvid cycle "Threads". E. Montvid will be accompanied at the concert by one of the most famous British accompanists and chamber music performers, pianist Simon Lepper, a teacher at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Edgar Montvid is a well-known name in the world of the opera elite. The soloist created more than 40 roles, which he performed at the English National, London Royal Covent Garden, Dutch National, Geneva, Frankfurt, Lyon, Paris, Brussels, Strasbourg, Cincinnati, Santa Fe (USA) and other opera houses. In addition to opera productions, the singer actively performs with the most famous European, American and Japanese symphony orchestras in such prestigious concert halls as Vienna's "Musikverein", Amsterdam's "Concertgebouw", the Berlin Philharmonic and others. in 2020 E. Montvidas became the artistic director of Pažaislis Music Festival. The soloist was awarded the medal of the Order "For Merit to Lithuania", the honorary badge of the Ministry of Culture "Carry your light and believe", in 2023. he was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Art.
