A few months ago, the GŠ Ensemble presented 12th and 13th century. the music of the Notre-Dame school, otherwise known as ars antiqua, born at the junction. The representatives of this school were the first to record and sing the organ - polyphonic works. XIV century ars antiqua was replaced by ars nova, a new style of music characterized by a more complex rhythm.

This time, the GŠ Ensemble will present the work of the most famous ars nova music composer, Guillaume de Machaut, Messe de Nostre-Dame (Mass in Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral, 1364).

This is the first polyphonic mass whose author is known. This work not only reflects the musical era of its time, but also introduces one of the most interesting personalities of that time - musician, poet, diplomat and canon Guillaume de Machaut. At a time when the colorful Gothic style sought universality, Guillaume de Machaut, described by his contemporaries as an "earthly god of harmony", created art freed from the weight of local traditions.

GŠ Ensamblis - Vilnius vocal collective of sacred music. The most important CDs of the ensemble: "Gospel according to John" ( 2018), "Kantičkos" (2019), "Clavis Coeli" (2022). Another one is currently being prepared - the 17th century. Vilnius Jesuit Hymns - compact disc "Hymns Suitable for the Catholic Faith".

The activities of the museum are financed by the Vilnius Archdiocese and the Lithuanian Cultural Council.
