Antonui Bruckneriui - 200 | „Messe f-moll“ koncertas

October 12, 7 p.m., Vilnius St. A solemn concert dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner will be held in St. John's Church. This special event will feature one of Bruckner's greatest works, Messe F minor.

For the concert the Norwegian conductor Jon Fylling will conduct, and among the performers we will see an impressive ensemble: the Norwegian Vocal Ensemble, the Vilnius University Mixed Choir "Pro Musica", the Bodo Chamber Choir and the Vilnius Symphony Orchestra of Music Lovers. The sound of the work will be revealed by soloists Malgožata Patricija Minkel (soprano), Skirmantė Vaičiūtė (mezzo-soprano), Laurynas Viliušis (tenor) and Konstantin Toman (bass).

This concert is part of Anton Bruckner's 200-year Masses in F minor tour, which has already been presented in Belgium and will continue in Norway. This unique series of events, taking place in three European countries with four orchestras, brings together music lovers from different cultures to celebrate the life and work of this great composer.

Norwegian conductor Jon Fylling shares his excitement about this project: "When I was 13 years old, I discovered Anton Bruckner's work and promised myself to perform his Messe in F minor someday." This mass is not only a magnificent work, but also a personal spiritual testimony of the composer. Anton Bruckner's "Messe in F minor" is one of the most famous 19th century masterpieces of church music. The six-part mass work (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei) conveys both spiritual depth and dramatic and symphonic lines characteristic of the composer.
